Paris Fashion Week: Saint Laurent AW15
Hedi Slimane took to the Parisian catwalks last night with a reoccurring theme of baby doll dresses, biker jackets and cheekbones. Saint Laurent’s AW15 collection was nothing but snippets of the past four seasons of the rock and roll, androgynous and a how to be cool guide by wearing this collection, collections. Ripped tights, sheer blouses and leather trousers were walked by Slimane’s army of moody models, showcasing not the most practical of Fall clothing. Like a scenario of Courtney Love going to prom, the baby doll dresses set a new trend alert of punk rock princess. Cut out trousers and highly slit dresses, accents of oversized bows and multi coloured fur made an appearance, adding to the ‘bad gal’ narrative of Hedi Slimane’s takeover. Like every season, Slimane strips it down to the basics, with the cultural reference of mixing the effortlessness of French women with the rock and roll wildness of the downtown LA crowd, Saint Laurent provides a gateway for the new generation of cool kids.
