Opening Ceremony welcomes the Chinese New Year
In celebration of the Chinese New Year, Opening Ceremony has created it's annual country-specific theme for it's consumers. Showcasing many of their Chinese brands such as Angel Chen and Ximon Lee, the online retailer has also announced a debut of Decoster that will be sold outside of it's home country for the first time. Humberto Leon of OC stated "In the last five years so much has progressed. When we first went out there, there was definitely a feeling that the young designers in China, as much as they have the resources at their finger tip, really needed to get their production quality up to international standards. It’s been a longish process but they’re definitely there.”
Opening Ceremony has taken to it's longtime neighbourhood spot to highlight their main focus for 2016, Pearl River Mart. The famous Soho emporium that caters to all things Chinese, has become a staple space since 1971 and is now merging East and West with Opening Ceremony's endless list of Chinese designers in their Asian infused department store which is soon to be shutting down. Pearl River Mart will be vacating it's downtown space at the end of the month, however will still be operating online, whilst a new location will be on the look out.
