Is Gucci Pre Fall 2016 the new normcore?

For Gucci's Pre Fall 2016 collection, Alessandro Michele turned to surrealism which was captured by British photographer and film director, Glen Luchford. Like a scene out of a Wes Anderson movie, the tropical visuals were the exact direction of florals, fun and flamingo's that the Italian brand is going in. Gucci explained“In this chaotic and cluttered wonderland, more is definitely more,” hence the beautiful mess of the campaign. This season Michele adopted a fascinatingly complex school of wearable florals, metallic accents and references to an awkward 60's substitute teacher. With modernist impulses on traditional forms, and juxtapositioned prints and patterns, has Gucci just created the new normcore?
