DKNY set to host an all female exhibition
DKNY's creative directors, Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow, also the founders of contemporary label, Public School, have announced a partnership with the New Museum to hold an all female exhibition. Responding to the current movement in society, Osborne comments “Female empowerment is why the brand even exists" Highlighting female artists, the two parties will join forces to create the exhibit 'The New Women's Project'. Starting today, the New York based exhibition will include solo exhibitions by French painter Nicole Eisenman, London-based Polish installation artist Goshka Macuga, Romanian sculptor Andra Ursuta, Puerto Rican photographer Beatriz Santiago Muñoz and Cally Spooner.
The Artistic director of the New Museum spoke about the collaboration “When we planned these exhibitions, we simply sought to celebrate some of the greatest artists of today, regardless of their gender, and yet our choices attracted attention. Clearly there are still glass ceilings to be shattered, and we are thrilled to continue to do so with DKNY’s partnership.” To learn more watch the video below.
