Gia Coppola directs a Gucci wedding
Dropping a partnered film series with Conde Nast, indie director, Gia Coppola has released a four part series for Gucci. Bringing a real life wedding scenery where everyone is dressed in head to toe Michele brilliance, to digital mechanisms, the 29 year old visual genius modernises the traditional love myth of 'Orpheus and Eurydice'. The publishing house describes their newest release as "a bold mixture of fashion film and narrative movie—showcasing the Pre-Fall collection from Gucci designer Alessandro Michele on a cast that includes French singer-songwriter Lou Doillon and model-actor-photographer Marcel Castenmiller."
Each a two minute segment, Conde Nast's president and chief executive officer Bob Sauerberg, speaks about the collaboration and labels it the “most creatively ambitious branded project to date". Speaking to Vanity Fair, Coppola spoke about the Gucci creative director and her take on the contemporary urban tale "Alessandro’s symbolism and his ethereal aesthetic convey a story all of their own – an embroidery like the snake on the back of a coat or on a shoe, the butterfly or tiger added extra symbolism and metaphors for me to incorporate into the narrative sub-consciously." she continues The story is heart-breaking. I really wanted to convey the emotion, but also try to find stylistic ways to show the narrative since there’s no dialogue. In every project I do, I try and find my own personal connection and experiences to the material." To watch the magical and mystical films click here.
