Kenzo just released a Japanese fashion film
French fashion house, Kenzo has just dropped a fashion film to celebrate it's pre Autumn Winter collection. Entitled Sun to Sun, the 5 minute film is an ode to the fantasy of the Japanese folktale with an all girl gang of bikers. Shot throughout Japan, the mini movie was written and directed by Partel Oliva, who perfectly encapsulated the strength of the Kenzo woman. Also featuring animations by Sanghon Kim, the narrated film is not a new venture for the ready-to-wear label, as in the past films such as Snowbird and Electric Jungle all were released in celebration of seasonal collections.
The brand spoke about the inspiration behind the fashion film and it's relevance to the 21st century "In our version, Momotarō becomes Momoko, an ambiguous young girl, and his animal friends morph into biker couples with delinquent tendencies. Girl bikers are so rare, people often say they look strong. They give them some respect for that"
