Rejina Pyo plays with proportion for SS17

London based label Rejina Pyo brings playful proportions for Spring Summer 2017. Constructing the beauty of deconstruction, the ready to wear brand evokes a wearable form of art with it's sculptural silhouettes and abstract notions. The Korean born designer merges the link between fashion and art describing it as “art and fashion share a lot of things. It’s something that you want to look at, there is often an element of surprise, it can be beautiful or ugly and ultimately, it is a matter of taste. The boundary between art and fashion is always somewhat blurred, so I wanted to experiment with a more direct approach."
For SS17 the brand took classic pieces such as crisp white blouses, slip dresses and white leg trousers and put an innovative take on it through the use of volume, fabrications and the construction of the female body. Maintaining a monochromatic colour palette with the occasional reference of orange and 'denim' blue, Pyo stripped fashion basics and made them everything but basic.
